What size trowel do I need for 600x600mm floor tiles?

We use a 10mm to 12mm square-notch trowel for 600x600mm porcelain tiles, and a 12mm to 15mm for larger formats. Back-buttering (applying adhesive to the back of the tile) is also essential for tiles above 600mm to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots.
Can I tile directly on timber floors?

Not directly — timber movement will crack the grout and tiles. We install a decoupling membrane (Schlüter DITRA or Mapei Mapelastic) over the timber first, which absorbs movement and prevents cracking. This adds about RM 8–12 per sq ft to the substrate prep cost but is essential for a long-lasting finish.
Why are my bathroom tiles hollow or loose?

Common causes: poor adhesive coverage (less than 80% contact), movement in the substrate, water damage from a failed waterproofing membrane, or impact damage. We use a chain drag and tap-test to identify hollow tiles, then remove and re-bed them with fresh adhesive and proper substrate prep.
Do you handle natural stone like marble and granite?

Yes. We install marble, granite, travertine, and limestone using specialist stone adhesive and grout. After installation we can apply penetrating sealers, polish, or crystallise the surface to your specified finish. Natural stone is also more sensitive to lippage, so we use the Raimondi system on all stone installations.
