What Installation Includes
- Hook inspection — the installer checks whether the ceiling has a solid anchor point. If not, a heavy-duty fan hook is installed and anchored to the structure above — never into plasterboard alone.
- Wiring — the fan is wired to the existing fan circuit with correct connections. For AC fans, the regulator is checked or replaced; for DC fans, the receiver unit is fitted in the canopy.
- Mounting — the fan bracket and motor are mounted level, with all fasteners tightened correctly.
- Blades and fittings — blades are fitted securely; glass shades and light kits (if included) are installed.
- Swing test — the fan is run at full speed and checked for wobble, vibration, and noise. Minor imbalances are corrected by swapping blades or using balancing weights.
Why the Fan Hook Matters
The fan hook carries the entire weight of the fan plus the forces of spinning blades. A fan bolted to a thin ceiling board or a poorly anchored hook can pull loose — a known cause of accidents in Malaysian homes. In condominiums with gypsum false ceilings, a steel support frame is fitted over the ceiling to transfer the load to the slab.
